OK gang, my fourth email account, but if it helps improve my "digital accent" I'm all in.
A great discussion last night. The implications are exciting. It also raises interesting connections as to why "natives" physiologically connect with a post-modern worldview. This includes relativism, and the tendency to synthesize "truths" from a variety of perspectives, even when they are from contradicting worldviews.
Back on topic... What's our "message"? Granted, the gospel is our message. But when people hear and see us online, what is it we want them to know about us? If we are targeting the young families, it seems we need to know the topics they are communicating about in order to enter the conversations. Parenting? Teaching truth to children? Finding safe environments for social interaction? The exciting thing is that we do have good things to offer for many of these concerns.
So, who might we want to ask this of? What young parents connect this way? Christy's come to mind.
OK, I'll stop there.
When is a blog post too long? Should it be short? Only address one topic? Rob - help a brother out :)

(i'm assuming "worshipdude" is Brent?) Brent, since you missed last night's meeting, and since you asked about the proper length of a blog entry, the quick head's up is that we decided to eliminate vowels from our posts. So, that last phrase would read thus:
ReplyDelete"th qck hd's p s tht w dcdd t lmnt vwls frm r psts."
see how beneficial that is? it will take some getting used to, but will save us all some time in the end. by the way, since "y" is sometimes seen as a vowel, it has been decided that it shall be at the writer's discretion as to when to eliminate "y" and when to not.
: )
p.s. i'm just writing something since i just found my way back to the blog. will try to get it set up for me to "read RSS feeds" and/or notify my regular email address when something is posted. I pray that the Lord will keep me from a desire to ever "tweet."
