A Use for Twitter

Mark read this from USA Today:

JetBlue and United airlines are offering their Twitter followers first dibs on some discounted fares, using the uber-trendy form of messaging to quickly connect with customers and fill seats on flights that might otherwise take off less than full.

  1. I'm glad we are talking about Twitter in this discussion. It's my firm belief that Facebook is all about Social Networking, while Twitter is really all about marketing. It's grown so far beyond telling people what you're eating for lunch, or when you're picking your kids up from school. It's transformed into a way to get your message out in a concise, readable way to a broad audience. Just a super, super tool...

By the way, @pfcn, @pfcnyouth, @pfcnworship, etc., are all still available at last check for usernames on Twitter.

  2. It is a brave new world, and fun muddling around in this stuff. That's cool that you could check on available usernames. Would a Twitter "page" (if that's what it would be called) a better/effective tool than a FaceBook page, or would it be good to have both?

Here's my two cents on a "worship" group: i would hope that we would just call it "music" since i think it is not a healthy thing to buy into the modern tradition of only referring to "music" as "worship". By doing so, i think it tends to limit the definition of true and full worship. At least, i think it puts in the mind of the congregation that music and worship are synonymous. Anyhoo, just my opinion, but thought i would throw it into the mix...
